Powerful Thinking, Powerful Writing has the potential to transform teaching practice across the learning programme and, in the process, achieve a phenomenal advance in the standard of students’ thinking and writing. Each book offers nine thinking and writing contexts, covering a range of learning areas. Within each context, students develop a deep and careful thinking strategy for a particular thinking skill before being guided through a step-by-step process to help them transform their powerful thinking into even more powerful writing. This is the series you are looking for to build a culture of inquiry in your classroom to empower, engage and excite your learners.
An experienced teacher who has held a range of leadership positions, Bek Galloway now also works as a part-time educational consultant. Her major focus is to build powerful thinking and inquiring classrooms that engage students and prepare them for their future – not our past. She has presented at numerous national and international conferences, as well as running workshops on literacy, thinking and questioning, ICT and other subjects directly relevant to 21st century learning. Her awards include Haben’s Prize for Excellence in Education, University of Canterbury, in 1995 and the National Excellence in Teaching (NEiTA) Regional Award in 2010
