- Documentation and planning for the EYLF
Assessment for Learning is an essential resource for all educators and directors in early childhood settings. It provides a point of reference in relation to the assessment for learning process described in the EYLF. The chapters deal with different aspects of the process, focusing on documentation, planning, evaluation, assessment and reflection. Each can be seen as separate, but all aspects need to be put in place to ensure that each child’s learning is fostered through rich and stimulating experiences. It includes case studies of planning, sample planning sheets and support on balancing child-initiated and adult-led learning.
Bridie Raban is currently an Honorary Professor at the University of Melbourne Graduate School of Education. Her past research has focused on language and literacy development, teacher change and development, curriculum and assessment for the early childhood years and quality provision. She was the first Professor of Early Childhood Education in Victoria and the second in Australia, and before this she was Professor of Primary Education (Early Years) at the University of Warwick and President of the UK Reading Association.
